The Ancient City has several historic sights for tourists. Ancient homes, temples, communal homes, a covered bridge etc. Cars are not allowed and very few motorcycles were present. Many people were in traditional dress and available for the tourists to take pictures.
The area had lots of tourist shops and restaurants. It was a great location to people watch. This area flowed into one of the local markets and was along the river bank.
The evening view was spectacular. Silk and paper lanterns lit up the whole area. You could purchase small floating latterns to release into the river.
